This striking form captures the historic moment when political prisoners walked through the gates of Robben Island into freedom. It’s a visual echo of hope, dignity, and the strength of a nation rising from oppression.
This deeply symbolic pendant is hand-crafted from original Robben Island prison fencing — the very barrier that once imprisoned Nelson Mandela and many others. Each piece is cut, silver-soldered, sealed, and then finished in silver, yellow gold, or rose gold.
